The Job is OVER!!!!

Well, I know it has been a while, 7 days at least. This was supposed to be my last day of work. I was supposed to work from 4:30 - 7:30. My boss called this morning. Woke me up out of a sound sleep. I was in the middle of a dream where I was getting a massage. Anyway, she had a few questions fro me and then she said not to bother coming in tonight. She had "accidentally" scheduled too many people for this evening so I didn't have to come in. I don't mind but I didn't get to say good bye. Also, I had also left a library book there so I went in right around lunch time to pick it up. I also had a small bag of simple gifts to give to the girls I worked with. I dropped those off too. I explained to one of the girls that I would be back when I knew the boss wouldn't be there to say goodbye to everyone.
So, tomorrow, I am going to make pizza for supper and Marcus and family are coming fro supper so we will celebrate then!
I am pretty tired so as soon as the kids are done eating, I will lay down fro a little while since I don't have to worry about getting supper ready early.
Well, Check out my Dad's site if you haven't yet. Here is the link and address sjcphotos.blogspot.com

Good morning

I turned my alarm off this morning and went back to bed. I woke up 6 minutes before I had to have Daniel outside waiting for the school bus! OOPS! Well, we got out there in plenty of time and as we were waiting, Daniel saw an airplane up high in the sky. He made sure that I had seen it and then asked," How did it get up there?" duh....... It goes fast and has really big engines, is what I told him but he just kind of stared at it like he didn't understand how those two things could keep it up in the air. Personally, I don't understand either but I have seen them fly so I know something keeps them up there. Maybe it is the hand of God. I like that idea. I know it has a lot to do with Physics and Science but I don't understand how it all works. I expect Daniel will be able to tell me how the airplanes stay up all by himself in a few years.
My dad is doing okay. He didn't have a good day yesterday until the evening. Mom seems to be holding up good too. If she has to be up late she gets lonely but other then that, she is good.
If you want more specifics, as me for the website for my Dad.

News on my father

Hello all. This past Friday my father went into the hospital with a really bad cough and severe fatigue. Everyone assumed heart trouble since he has a history of heart trouble. However in doing the many batteries of blood tests, they found Acute Leukemia. After a CAT scan on Friday night they started him on Chemo pills right away. The doctors have been floored at how well Daddy has responded. His white blood count dropped phenomenally. Yesterday he had a bone marrow biopsy and tomorrow he has an consultation with the bone doctor and probably a few other doctors. My sister will be there for the consultation so she will be able to take notes and keep us better informed.
I will be setting up a website for him. It will be a site you can go to, in order to get updates on how Dad is doing.
One more thing, my husband's grandmother, who's pictures are below and who's birthday we went out to Indiana to celebrate is dying. Her stomach has shut down. Please pray for the Wesner Family. Aunt Bev who is handling most of the burdern, Grandpa, and Grandma and also the family that is far away.

Because of all this going on right now, my websites will be sadly neglected.
Thank you so much for your prayers!

More News

Well, Friday, the kids and I made the trip down to Mom and Dad's. The original reason was supposed to be to help put up their tree. Well early in the week I made the decision to get one of my wisdom teeth pulled. It was giving me a little bit of grief but I figured it was as good a time as any. I had been told 5 years ago that they were going to need to come out. Well, the visit went great. I tried not to get too worked up about it since I knew there were needles involved and you hear tons of horrible stories about it. So any way, Daddy took me and waited with me. He said he would sit and listen to the screams. Not very comforting. However, the worst part was the needle and even that wasn't too bad. However, knowing it was coming made me feel light headed and nauseated. Once he got the novacaine in it was a piece of cake! He did some pulling and pushing to loosen it up and popped it right out. I didn't feel a thing except some pressure from the pulling and pushing. I told him it was one of the best experiences in a dentists chair I had ever had. Shocking, I know! It only cost me $60 too! That was the best part! So now it is Monday and I am still taking Tylenol for the dull ache which feels like a tension headache that has dropped down into my jaw. I called the office and just to be on the safe side they called in an antibiotic for me and told me to use hot compresses. Doug is coming home early today to use up the rest of his bonus days before the end of the year. He needs to do some more work on his class work for tonight.
Danny caught a cold. It pretty much hit him fast on Saturday while we were at my parents. We kept him home from church. Kali and I went but I didn't get to attend the service because Kali decided she wasn't going to go to Junior Church. Started crying and everything! I guess she was extra tired from being up so late the night before. (We had my father in laws birthday party on Saturday night.) So I decided to just go home. We got part way home and she changed her mind. I refused to turn around though. Doug sent me back on Sunday night since I don't get to church much since I am working. I didn't get much out of that either since my lack of tooth was bothering me so much. Oh well. I wont be working for much longer and I will celebrate the day I am done! Danny stayed home from school today to give him an extra day to recover. He seems to be feeling better. I thought school might be canceled anyway since we got some snow but it wasn't enough to cancel school for any reason other then problems withe heat or electricity. Oh well!
I don't think there is much other news right now.

Just a little note.

Hey all,
Monday night Doug and I made the decision for to quit my job. Daniel has been showing signs of regression and me working is the only thing that we can figure to attribute it to. He is still doing great but things that he could do three weeks ago, or two months ago, he is refusing to do, or can't do. This has caused some major stress in my life and Doug said that no one was happy with me working and it was just adding stress to our lives. I had to agree. I still need to make the decision as to when to tell my boss. Oddly enough today is my 90 day anniversary. I should be getting a raise. I feel bad and want to giver her a lot of time to replace me but I am afraid that if I tell her now, she will give me a hard time for the whole month that I have left there. Please pray that God will give me wisdom in this situation. My last day will be around the end of the year. I hope to be able to keep the friends I have made.
One more thing. The problems that have been going on with my dad seem to be over. He was having an allergic reaction to the fish oil pills he was taking in order to drop his triglycerides. Thanks for praying for him too. I'll write again soon!

He's got a grasp on what is important.

Literally!

How Many cameras does one family need?

They aren't all in this picture but here there are 4 in the picture and of course one taking the picture but we are missing at least one of the camera's in teh family maybe two. It is like a disease. They just start sprouting out of heads at the strangest times!

she was on Grandpa's lap. I think
Doug just caught her in an odd moment.
It is still very funny!

Darth Kali!

Yes! Cousin Paul was Darth Vader for his school Halloween party. He already had the helmet. Kali found it while she was playing. She came out with only the face part on. Danny had the top helmet part on. We had him give it to Kali. I cracked up when I saw her though. It was hilarious. The panel hanging fromt eh face mask makes the breathing sounds and says some of the key lines from the movies. It also alters the voice of the person speaking from the inside of the helmet. She kept saying "Danny and Kali". She also didn't have very good peripheral visions so she kept falling over things that were on the floor. Including people! It really was very funny!

Pictures from our trip to Indiana!

OH MY! It is so hard to choose which ones to post. I am going to have a really hard time not posting ALL of them! There are some really great ones! We went out to Indiana to visit Doug's mother's side of the family. The Wesner's. If any of you were at our wedding, Mary and Jeannette were our flower girls. Daniel was our ring bearer and Steve was one of the groom's men. Sharon was the first Wesner Cousin I ever met. She was at Family Camp one year with Beth and the three of us seemed to hit it off. We did some thing really goofy and if I ever find the picture, I may just post it too. Sorry girls! Grandma and Grandpa Wesner are wonderful people who welcomed me into the family with great big hugs! Then again, they welcome everyone with great big hugs! They were tremendously active in their church and although they have slowed down a lot in the past few years, they are still two of the best prayer warriors we know! The occasion for this trip was to celebrate their 80th birthdays. Grandma's isn't for a few months I guess but it seemed a good time to do both.
Bear with me as I post a ton of pictures. If you have questions about the pictures and I haven't added any comments to explain, leave a comment and I will reply as soon as I can! This picture, is by far the greatest achievement of the weekend! EVERYONE in one place at one time. We were only missing Beth's husband Jon, as he couldn't get the time off work and had to preach for Dad on Sunday night.
I will try and list everyone in the picture
Back Row: Aunt Eileen, Daniel, Aunt Bev,Rachel, Beth, Jeanette, Mel w/ Danny, Jonathan, Michelle
On the Chairs: Uncle Dave, Uncle Rodger, Grandpa Wesner, Grandma Wesner, Linda w/ Kali, and Christine
On the Floor: Steve, Evie w/ Baby Scott, Paul, Mary, Markus & Sharon, Doug, Heidi

I think I got everyone! Now let's see if this picture will post!

More pics from the weekend!

Kali was dressed up for Ed and Tina's reception Saturday night and she was blowing kisses! danny was making funny faces at me!

Here is a better picture of Kali in her turban, and another picture of Danny with is trains.

Close ups!

Kali was in a towel turban to help protect her hair. i had put it in curlers. I found her later taking her curlers out. I was pretty irritated but I have to admit they aren't comfortable to sleep in. Danny just wanted me to take a picture of his trains.

Here they are!

Hey all! I am finally posting some more pictures. I really should be doing house work so there wont be a lot right now but there will be more throughout the week. At least I hope so. The two on the right are from Kali's birthday and the one on the left is my little snowflake queen! The dress actually has a hoop under it but I am going to take it out and she is going to wear this dress for Christmas. It is pretty long on her so she should be able to wear it next year too!

Wednesday, November 01, 2006

Been a while.

I know, I know! It has been a while. I was really hoping to get some pictures yesterday of the kids but my lovely snowflake queen daughter threw up all over her dress. She had been coughing since Thursday but yesterday she seemed to be better. Danny decided he wanted nothing to do with school yesterday and they basically had to drag him into the classroom. I felt bad but there was no good reason for him to not want to go. He was dressed up as a train engineer again this year. I had to run to Walmart to get a new buckle for his train but then I left it at the school for him to show. When Kali and I picked him up, the teacher told me he was fine less then a minute after I left. I knew he would be but he has been acting up lately. Mostly since the time changed again.
So we went home an ate lunch and then I put Kali in her dress and we went to visit our friend Robin and then my grandparents and then Aunt Beth and Grandma Chandler. Aunt Beth and Grandma Chandler gave the kids SMARTIES and they ate them on the way home. At Grandma's house, Kali started coughing again but not too much. By the time we got home though, she was coughing harder. We got home about 2 minutes before Doug. The kids were playing Daniel's Thomas the Tank Engine game. I was sitting here next to Doug and we were talking about the days we had and what was coming for the evening. Kali came out not looking too good and still coughing. She looked at us and then started to cough. Then she gagged and threw her hands over her mouth. I grabbed a towel that happened to be close by and "caught it" but not before she got it all over her pretty new dress. This happened about 7 minutes before I had to leave. I got the dress off of her and started cleaning it. It is a "spot clean only" dress since there is some white fur trim around the wrists and neck and hem. So I did some quick spot cleaning and then covered the dress in Febreeze. I threw my uniform on and ran out the door. Thankfully I was on time for work but I was not in a great mood. Thankfully I was working with the two best workers there. The day went pretty well. After we finished serving the meal, we were cleaning up, I was clearing dishes when I head a page for me to pick up the phone. Now I was scared. Doug had called worried because there were 10 open medicine packs on the bathroom counter that he thought Daniel had gotten into and eaten them all. Thankfully I knew that wasn't true and we all breathed a sigh of relief. Poor Doug. He didn't have a very good night with the kids. When I got home, near 8 PM. The kids were still eating. The supper that I had put in the oven at 4 something Pm, took longer to cook then it was supposed to.
So , all this to say that I didn't get the pictures that I wanted to of the kids yesterday so I am going to try again today. I stopped at Walmart after work yesterday and picked up one of those Dry cleaning kits to use at home. I was able to do a pretty good job on the dress but the smell is still there. I have been periodically spraying it with Febreeze but the smell doesn't seem to be coming out. If you see Kali in a pretty white fur trimmed navy blue felt dress, don't smell her!
Hopefully there will be a few pictures sometime in the next few days.
The Reception for Ed and Tina is this Saturday here in Ohio and we are excited to see them again. Kali keeps talking about her "cousint Melanie". Yes, I know there is a T at the end of Cousin but that is how she says it. It is really sute, actually.
Well, enough time messing around here. I have a house to clean and some supper to prepare. I have to work again tonight so I want the house to be as ready as possible so the kids wont get into too much trouble and Doug can have an easier evening then yesterday.
See you all soon!

Flu Shots

Hey all,
I am so proud of my kids! Yesterday I took them to get their flu shots. Now two weeks ago, Kali went in for a check up and had to have a shot. The Assistant did a great job with Kali and told her what she was going to do. 1-2-3 Pinch! Kali never even flinched! So, I asked them to give Kali her shot first so Danny could watch. Again, she never flinched. I sat next to Danny and held on to his arms because he is an unknown. We explained it to him and he seemed fine until he saw the needle. He started to cry but we turned his head away and 1-2-3 Pinch! He was fine! Not even a sound! In fact, he didn't flinch either. I promised the kids "ice cream", or a milk shake, afterwards so they were pretty excited. When we walked down the hall to leave the receptionist said,"I never even heard a peep!" The kids before them came out screaming. I felt bad for them. I would have been the same way. I probably did worse then the kids. Seeing the needle go into Danny's arm made me slightly nauseous and light headed. It is really quite funny. Daniel and Kali LOVE going to the doctor's. Kali was pretty upset when I told her it wasn't for a check up, just shots When I explained the 1-2-3 Pinch! she got realy excited!
Well, My house is in need of attention for a certain little girl's birthday party this weekend.

A couple more pictures

Here are a few more pictures. Aren't they cute?

Finally some new pictures!

My favorite subjects are my children and that is mostly what this website was created for. These pics turned out a little fuzzy. I am not the photographer that my father or husband is but I like these. My kids love each other so much and they miss each other when they are apart. They are best friends and rarely enemies.

Another short update.

Doug has passed his kidney stone. We are so thankful that this ordeal is over. It lasted way to long. Doug didn't go to work today, even though he passed the stone last night. His body is still out of wack from all the pain medicine. He was also up a lot in the night and didn't get much sleep.
The kids spent Sunday night and Monday night with their Aunt Beth. I stopped last night to see them and put them to bed.
I took Doug in to the hospital at 9:30 Sunday night. It was busy so we didn't see anyone for a while. They eventually decided to admit Doug but that took a while also. He was admitted at about 4:00 AM. I got home around 5 AM and I didn't go to bed until after 6 AM. This was because I needed to call Doug's place of employment to tell them he wouldn't be in. I slept until 11 AM and then ran a few errands and went back to the hospital. We were there until 7:00 PM. Doug had two visitors from our church. That was nice. We also were able to chat with Doug's room mate and his wife. Doug has to have a follow up appointment with the doctor next Tuesday.
I have to work tonight but thankfully, I am off tomorrow. I was supposed to work tomorrow but a girl at work wanted to switch with me. I was only too happy to do so. I like to be able to take Kali to AWANA and that way no one has to pick her up and take her for me.
I am cooking again this weekend. This is only the second time I have cooked and I am scared to death to do it. I am tempted to ask for help but I don't want to ask my boss. I don't think it is fair to ask one of the other cooks to come in and help either though.
Danny went to school today and Kali went with Aunt Beth to the Pastor's and Wives fellowship at their church. There should have been at least one other little girl there so she will have a good time.
I had better be done for now. As soon as I have a good picture or two, I will post some new ones.

Friday, October 06, 2006

Most of you know that Doug is dealing with a kidney stone. Until all this is behind us, I probably wont do much on my site. IF you want to see the wedding pictures, check out the link to Tina's Blog

A run down of the weekend

Well, it was a good wedding, despite the rain, cold and mud. Danny did a great job as ringbearer and didn't have a problem riding in the fancy wagon pulled by horses with the rest of the wedding party. Thankfully he stayed clean but he was pretty cold. We had brought a babysitter/mother's helper with us and she was more helpful than I think she knows. She stayed at the house with Kali during the wedding. Kali had been coughing all weekend and we didn't think it would be a good idea for her to be out in the cold and rain. The kids did the trip to and from very well and we made decent time both ways. We were freezing the first night at the camp where we stayed but we were able to fix that for the second night. We were able to visit some family out that direction and it was great to see Ed and Tina and Melanie start their life together.
We got home Sunday at 7 PM and unloaded the van. The kids ate supper late but went to bed without too much problem. Doug took Monday off so he could work on his BBI lesson for Monday evening. This morning he got up to go to work and ended up staying home because he is passing a kidney stone. Thankfully we still have some of the painkiller from the first one he passed so he is staying as comfortable as possible and drinking a lot of water. Kali had her 4 yr. check up today. She was great. They tested her vision and her hearing which were good and she is in the 97% for both height and weight. She also got a Polio vaccine which she didn't even flinch for, let alone cry about.
Danny just got off the bus and I am starting lunch. Then I am going to have to get Doug up so he can watch the kids while I run to Walmart to pick up a few prescriptions and some groceries. Then I have to come home and clean upt the kitchen and start supper. I work today so I have to have supper done by 4 PM.
Hope you all had a good weekend too.

Argh!

So I go into work last night only to find out that I asn't scheduled and I am not on the schedule at all this week. It will make for a small paycheck but it is nice to have time to get everything done for this weekend and not feel like I am rushing. Yeah right! I will still be flying around tomorrow like a chicken with my head cut off. Oh well. Hopefully we will see lots of you this weekend. I can't wait!

Major Accomplishment!

So we are finished potty training!!! Finally! Danny has had a hard time of it but he finally made his last step to being done. We are so excited. We will probably give him a few more times to be sure but I think we have stepped over the threshold! YEAH! 5 years of buying diapers and Pull-Ups. WOW! I wonder how much we spent on diapers for both kids for those 5 years. We probably could have had a decent amount saved for their college if we hadn't had to buy diapers. Oh well. We are done now so we can breathe a deep sigh of relief.
I wish I had a picture of share but I don't. We will be busy the rest of the week so don't look for too much. I am making pizza for supper so I had better go.

Just A Few Minutes!

I am so excited! Next week is Ed and Tina's wedding! we haven't been as good as we should have been working with Daniel but he knows that the pillow is not something to be thrown or played with. Melody and I are singing and we have been trying to work out getting together to practice but it hasn't worked out. W will work on it next Thursday and Friday at the rehearsal.
Today the kids and I went to Mom and Dad's and we all ate lunch at the market. Best fries in the world! When we got home I did Momma's hair and Daddy left for his bus run. The kids played in the sand box until we caught Kali with a mouthful of sand and Danny throwing sand all over her. When we came home, I fed the kids, talked with Doug for a few minutes and went back out the door. I stopped at work to get my schedule for next week and then I headed to G & G's for a little while. When I got back, I had a few phone calls to make and I am still waiting for one more.
Have a great weekend!

Tuesday News

Not too much today, mostly because I wrote this out already and then I lost it all. Kali and I went shopping yesterday after Danny went to school. She helped so it took a little longer and we weren't able to get everything we needed. Last night, while I was at the library, Danny found some nail polish and I really have no idea how he got it. He managed to only get it on his face and a tiny bit on one of my old shirts. The nail polish is clear with red heart confetti in it. The bottle didn't even dump. We were relieved the damage wasn't worse.
This morning Kali and I were headed back to Wal0mart to finish out shopping. I was brushing her hair, which is alway an ordeal. I found what I thought was food in her hair, a common occurence but it turned out to be......yep, you guessed it, nail polish! I grabbed a fine tooth comb and the scissors. Most of the nail polish seemed to be in the same spot that Danny cut a month ago. Wonder what he was thinking when he put the nail polish on her head? I found myself thinking of my mother and the many times she ahd to cut gum out of my hair and how my daughter was ending up much like her mother, although I don't think it was her fault. I did not have to cut it out ofher hair. The dried nail polish crunch up a little and then I was able to pull it out of her hair with out any problem or pain.
While finishing up our grocery shopping that we didn't finish yesterday,I also got some clothes for the kids. Danny got paid for participating in the TEACCH program this past June and the check came last week. I was able to get 4 pairs of pants for him and about 4 shirts. I got Kali some clothes too but not as much. She got a new outfit for church plus some long sleeved t-shirts and some tights and two belts. Both kids got rain parkas. I also got a new floor lamp for the living room since the kids broke the nob off the old one. I got a cheap one. Doug and I figure we wont be able to get nice stuff for quite a while. I got a couple new sheets for the kid's beds too.
Tomorrow is Kali birthday. She and I will be making cookies for her to take to her first night of AWANA Cubbies Club. Since it is her birthday, she is supposed to provide the snack. She and I will also spend some time looking at the pictures of her birth. The kids love looking at pictures and I usually take the time on their birthdays to remember the precious gifts God gave us in our children. We will have a big family party sometime in October when things slow down.
I will try to add a picture of Kali from the day she was born. I kow Red is hard to see on the black back ground but Kali has been talking about a "RED" birthday for a month. I am not sure what she means but I decided to make this red in her honor.

Good Sunday

Good Morning All.
Doug just left early for church. There is a Board meeting that he really wanted to be at this morning. He didn't think he would be able to go since I had to work this morning. I don't work until 10:30 so I can take the kids to church when Sunday school starts and Doug can be there for them when the meeting is over.
Today will be my first real test at work. I worked "alone" yesterday but it was a cold meal that was already put together for the most part. Today I am really going to have to cook. I expect that I will be late leaving work today. Please pray for me that I get everything done on time and don't get overwhelmed.
Have a good day!

Even More PJ Pictures

More PJ pictures

Here is a picture of Danny running toward the camera. He was wanting to see the picture on the screen on the back of the camera. I kept having to let them come see the picture I had just taken. they love seeing themselves int he pictures.

Brand New Pajamas

I made the mistake of showing the kids some winter PJ's I had bought for them. They couldn't wait to wear them. They looked so cute that I couldn't resist the pictures. There are more that I will post of them hugging and kissing.

Playing Catch!

The kids were playing catch together. They were having so much fun. Kalista is not as good at catching and throwing as Danny but he was very patient with her and tried to teach her how to do it right.

A couple Shower pictures

Finally some new pictures. The small picture of Melanie was taken during the shower. Melanie was given a few gifts at the shower as well and she was taking a break from all the excitement to enjoy her new princess pillow. The picture of Tina was at the end of the only game they played. Tina was a good sport about this. What you can't see is that under the pile of ribbons and bows, Tina's face was smeared with makeup as three volunteers had to try to do her make up with their eyes closed.
Ed and Tina got a ton of great gifts and it was a really fun trip to make. It was especially fun to be able to ride out and back with Melody and Joe and the boys. Kalista was with us too.
